Meet Megan

Having lived in Colorado my whole life, and here in Crested Butte since 1997, I have truly grown to love and cherish my surroundings.  I have two wonderful children, a loving husband, two cute dogs and my whole side of the family here to help me do everything we do.  We love skiing, horseback riding, anything on the water, Pilates, and exploring the backcountry any way we can.  I feel my experience in Crested Butte will help you find the perfect piece of property.  I am here forever and want all my clients to love and enjoy Gunnison County as much as I do!

Megan loves the Crested Butte life because she enjoys the great outdoors:  trail running, hiking, mountain biking, riding horses, and most of all, raising her two amazing children here.  Pilates is her key to keeping all of these things in line.

She grew up a gymnast, and chasing four older brothers, making it necessary to have a passion to be strong, flexible and mobile just to keep up.  While attending Fort Lewis College in Durango she played for the Division II women’s soccer team.  After graduating with an Exercise Science degree (emphasis on Athletic Training),  she took the head coach position for the women’s soccer team for two seasons.

Megan has been teaching Pilates mat for over 10 years and was first trainee of the Physical Mind Institute in Denver, Co.

Our Family Resturant

Serving Family Style Fried Chicken and Steak Dinners Nightly

During the late 1800s, Second Street was a major thoroughfare for Crested Butte miners returning from the Big Mine on the Bench. At the corner of Second and Whiterock stood what is today known as the Slogar Restaurant, built in 1882 by Thomas W. Lipcomb. Back then, the Slogar was one of 18 taverns in town, and the first tavern miners came to as they returned from their long day’s work.

The Slogar menu has its own historical significance. Our specialty, skillet fried chicken, is from a recipe famous for its great taste since 1915. The unusual sweet and sour coleslaw salad of the Slogar is taken from a Pennsylvania Dutch recipe dating back to the early 1800s. Baking powder biscuits, old-fashioned mashed potatoes with rich chicken gravy, and home-styled ice cream have always been traditional favorites.
